I’m incredibly excited to report that I lost 2 lbs this past week, bring my total lost to 20 lbs! This is awesome. Let me count the ways:
- I hit my next 5-lb milestone. As you can see on my Progress/Rewards page, I’ll be treating myself to some new perfume. Any favorites to suggest? I haven’t settled on a scent yet.
- Another milestone: I have lost 25% of the weight I plan to lose! My goal weight is approximately 125 lbs, so I have a little less than 60 lbs to go. I have plenty of pounds to lose and changes to make, but I am really happy about this solid progress I’ve made.
- I’ve reached the point where I think my weight loss will now start to be noticeable to people who don’t know I’m trying to slim down. Which should be kind of fun!
- I’m in the low-180s now. The 180s, you know, have always challenged me. Now I’m only 3 lbs away from bidding them farewell for good.
- Ive now lost 10% of my starting body weight! That 10% is a big deal for improving my health, according to groups like Weight Watchers and even the Centers for Disease Control.
- I’m well on my way to hitting my unofficial mini-goal of 175 lbs by New Year’s Day!
That’s a lot to be happy about! I’m proud of myself, and I’m grateful for your support and the at-home support of my boyfriend, who has been a great source of comfort during my roughest days. Nothing to do now but keep on keeping on! And maybe start lifting weights ;).

That’s awesome Hilary! Way to go!! :) Keep up the good work! :)
Oh, and I like Lucky as a perfume, but might need to switch soon myself. But yeah, that’s what I currently use. :)

Thank you so much, Mary! (I hope you’re feeling better today, btw!) Thanks for the perfume rec, too. I honestly get bewildered by all the choices out there ;).

Hilary, that is so awesome!! I left the 180s not long ago, so I know it’s a fantastic milestone. I can’t wait until I leave the 170s. :)

Congrats, congrats, and congrats!!!!! Wahooooo!!!!!! look at you go! It’s such a great feeling. As you know, I was at 19.5 lbs lost yesterday, but not quite 20. Well, I weighed myself when I got home last night and the scale said EXACTLY 236.0 which is exactly 20 lbs! LOL I told my husband if I had known that I would have waited to blog until last night!!! haha.
Congrats on all the milestones reached (and surpassed)….it only gets better from here (for both of us!)!!!!

Hilary, Congrats!!!!! Woohoo you hit 20, that’s great!! As I’ve told you so many times (you’re probably tired of hearing it) YOU inspired me to join Sparkpeople and jump on this wagon. You must be feeling so much better. I do, just being in control for 2 weeks.
Way to go! :-)
